States Death Row Converted To Life

Eleven inmates in Connecticut will not face the death penalty. The state carried out its last execution in two thousand five and abolished the practice in two thousand twelve even though a dozen inmates remained on death row. The state's top court has now decided that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment and that the remaining eleven will instead spend their lives in prison.
