Civil Rights Leader Julian Bond Dies

Julian Bond, former board chairman of the NAACP, has died after a brief illness. He was 75. Born in 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee, Bond helped found Morehouse College’s Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. He was on the front lines of the 1960s protests that led to the nation’s civil rights laws.
