Madeline Albright

Born in prewar Prague, the first female Secretary of State, Madeline Albright’s earliest years were defined by her family’s political flight, first from Hitler and Czechoslovakia’s Communist government. Albright was a Wellesley grad, a naturalized citizen, a journalist, and appointed Secretary of State in Clinton’s second term becoming the highest-ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government.
