Impact speed affects risk of injury

In a study of how impact speed affects a pedestrian’s risk of severe injury or death, the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety calculated that the risk of death for a pedestrian is 10 percent with an impact speed of 23 mph but rises to 25 percent at 32 mph.
