Congress Doing More With Less Staff

The lawmakers have a budget cap for staffers. In 2010 an average House member represented 710,767 people, up 52% from 1970 and each can have no more than 18 aids so as salaries rise the lawmakers can afford fewer aids. Congress is doing a bigger job today with fewer aids than those of 30 years ago.
