Padres Sign Shields For 4 Years

The Padres have reached an agreement with free-agent pitcher James Shields on a four-year deal that will pay him in the seventy-five million-dollar range. The deal also includes a club option for a fifth year. The deal would set a record for largest contract issued in Padres history.
