Lynching More Common Than First Thought

New details about lynching in America’s South have come to light. Researchers of the Equal Justice Initiative have recorded 3,959 instances of lynching from the Jim Crow era. That’s approximately 700 more than previous in-depth studies have shown. The studied time period spanned from the end of reconstruction in 1877 to 1950.
