U.S. Has Highest Prison Population

A recent study has shown that there are 2.3 million Americans serving time in either jail or prison, accounting for 25% of all of the prisoners held in the world. This has resulted in 2.7 million minors with at least one parent serving time. These numbers represent a 400% increase in the number of prisoners since 1970.
