Internment Camp To Become Monument

Obama recently announced that Hawaii’s Honouliuli internment camp will become a national monument, honoring more than 1,000 innocents Hawaiians detained during World War II. The late Democratic Senator Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii first proposed this in a 2009 bill. He worked together with former Senator Daniel K. Akaka to help make it happen.
